Utopia is the upcoming fourth studio album by American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer Travis Scott. It is scheduled to be released in 2021 through Cactus Jack Records and Epic Records. The album will follow his third studio album Astroworld (2018), and his compilation album with Cactus Jack Records JackBoys (2019).
Background[edit]
The title of the album was revealed in June 2020 when Scott uploaded an Instagram post with the caption 'Utopia'. He further teased the 'Utopia' title in a thank you letter on the second anniversary of Astroworld.[1] In October, Scott continued to tease the album in a series of tweets.[2]
Recording[edit]
In a 2021 interview with i-D, Scott said he has been working with new people while attempting to expand his sound and rapping new beats he has created recently.[3][4]
Release and promotion[edit]
On October 4, 2019, Scott released the single 'Highest in the Room', which was accompanied by a music video directed by David Meyers.[5] A remix with Spanish singer Rosalia, and American rapper Lil Baby, the latter which debuted on Scott's Cactus Jack compilation album JackBoys in December.[6] The song was previously teased on one of Kylie Jenner's Kylie Cosmetics advertisement. 'Highest in the Room' debuted at number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
